David Bielander "Nur ein Moment"
Welcome to our small exhibition presenting works by the renowned Swiss goldsmith and artist David Bielander. Born in Zurich in 1968, Bielander has made a name for himself through his innovative and often humorous jewelry pieces that combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary art.
What makes Bielander unique is his ability to transform everyday materials and shapes into extraordinary jewelry objects. His work is characterized by fine workmanship, creative ideas and a playful lightness. At first glance, many of his pieces look like simple objects, but on closer inspection they turn out to be artfully patinated silver or white gold, designed with great attention to detail.
The highlights of this exhibition include the impressive “8-like” table chandelier “Paul (the psychic octopus)” from 2012, which fascinates with its whimsical yet elegant form. In the dining room, we are also showing the work “Crucifix” or the “Crown”, which looks like corrugated cardboard but is actually made of finely patinated silver and white gold - a prime example of Bielander's playful approach to materials and forms.
On the exhibition wall in the hallway you will find iconic objects such as the “Shrimp” brooch, the scarab made from a spoon and the famous “Slug” brooch. These works reflect Bielander's ability to transform everyday objects into fascinating jewelry art that is both humorous and profound.
Bielander's works are represented in numerous major museum collections worldwide, underscoring his position as one of the most innovative contemporary jewelry artists. We invite you to discover the diversity and uniqueness of his creations and to be inspired by his creative world.
