Galerie Zink: Karl Fritsch & Dirk Zoete "Threesixtyfive"
With Threesixtyfive, Galerie Zink Waldkirchen presents the artists Karl Fritsch (*1963) and Dirk Zoete (*1969) in a dialog between Fritsch's finger sculptures and Zoete's drawings and objects. One year of work, 365 days, 365 questions and just as many answers. Both artists share an irrepressible urge to make, to work, explore and research materials and haptics.
As a goldsmith, Karl Fritsch works with metal and stones, gold, silver and iron. He uses old rings, stones from worn pieces of jewelry, glass, artificial and real diamonds. His rings dissolve the boundary between jewelry and sculpture and play with transformation and subversion. The making itself is a dance between intuition and function - with Fritsch, the goal lies along the way.
For Dirk Zoete, too, physical making is an essential part of the artwork itself. He paints, cuts, carves and draws his wooden panels, sculptures and reliefs. Open to chance, yet precise and clear, he formulates his landscapes like poems, portraits like stories and sculptures like plays.
