Job description: Operations Manager (m/f/d) for an apartment hotel
Our charming apartment hotel with 12 apartments and 3 double rooms offers our guests a home away from home. We attach great importance to personal service, hospitality and a pleasant atmosphere. To strengthen our team, we are now looking for a dedicated Operations Manager (m/f/d) to manage the operational processes and work closely with the owner family.
Reporting line: Direct reporting line to the hotel owner
Tasks and responsibilities:
Operational management:
- Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the apartment hotel, including the reception, housekeeping, catering, sales and technical areas.
- Optimization of processes to ensure the smooth running of hotel operations
- Management of bookings and guest check-in and check-out
Budgeting and cost control:
- Working closely with the owner to strategically plan and implement business objectives
- Support in the preparation and monitoring of the budget
- Responsibility for cost control in the operational areas
- Budget monitoring and support with purchasing and resource management
- Preparation and analysis of operating and financial reports to identify optimization potential in collaboration with the accounting department
Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate and train the operational team, including training and developing new staff to ensure excellent service and compliance with company standards
- Working closely with sales, marketing, purchasing and administration to achieve the overall goals of the hotel
Quality Management:
- Ensuring the highest quality standards and excellent guest service in all areas of the hotel through regular reviews.
- Identifying areas for improvement in operations and implementing efficient processes to increase profitability and guest comfort
- Monitoring maintenance and cleaning work to ensure high quality standards
- Ensuring compliance with all safety and hygiene standards in accordance with regulations and company guidelines.
Guest satisfaction:
- Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction through proactive communication, resolving issues and implementing guest feedback.
Requirements:
- Enjoy dealing with people
- Enjoy working independently
- High motivation to contribute to the further development of the hotel
- Completed vocational training or studies in hotel management, business administration or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in a similar position, ideally in the hotel industry
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Experience in team development
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- High service orientation and a keen sense for the needs of guests
- Independent and structured way of working
- Flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Good knowledge of hotel management software and MS Office
- Fluent German and good English skills (additional language skills are an advantage)
