Job description: Operations Manager (m/f/d) for an apartment hotel

Our charming apartment hotel with 12 apartments and 3 double rooms offers our guests a home away from home. We attach great importance to personal service, hospitality and a pleasant atmosphere. To strengthen our team, we are now looking for a dedicated Operations Manager (m/f/d) to manage the operational processes and work closely with the owner family.

Reporting line: Direct reporting line to the hotel owner

 

Tasks and responsibilities:

Operational management:

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the apartment hotel, including the reception, housekeeping, catering, sales and technical areas.
  • Optimization of processes to ensure the smooth running of hotel operations
  • Management of bookings and guest check-in and check-out

Budgeting and cost control:

  • Working closely with the owner to strategically plan and implement business objectives
  • Support in the preparation and monitoring of the budget
  • Responsibility for cost control in the operational areas
  • Budget monitoring and support with purchasing and resource management
  • Preparation and analysis of operating and financial reports to identify optimization potential in collaboration with the accounting department

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate and train the operational team, including training and developing new staff to ensure excellent service and compliance with company standards
  • Working closely with sales, marketing, purchasing and administration to achieve the overall goals of the hotel

Quality Management:

  • Ensuring the highest quality standards and excellent guest service in all areas of the hotel through regular reviews.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in operations and implementing efficient processes to increase profitability and guest comfort
  • Monitoring maintenance and cleaning work to ensure high quality standards
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety and hygiene standards in accordance with regulations and company guidelines.

Guest satisfaction:

  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction through proactive communication, resolving issues and implementing guest feedback.

 

Requirements:

  • Enjoy dealing with people
  • Enjoy working independently
  • High motivation to contribute to the further development of the hotel
  • Completed vocational training or studies in hotel management, business administration or comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in a similar position, ideally in the hotel industry
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in team development
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • High service orientation and a keen sense for the needs of guests
  • Independent and structured way of working
  • Flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Good knowledge of hotel management software and MS Office
  • Fluent German and good English skills (additional language skills are an advantage)
