Authentic Thai cuisine meets Bavarian charm–with a pinch of improv cabaret.

Florian Toperngpong, who grew up in the legendary “Baanthai”–Eastern Bavaria's first Thai restaurant–brings the flavors of his childhood to Berching. Between Thai basil, chili and galangal, he learned the art of Thai cuisine from scratch. Together with his wife, the illustrator Gisela Goppel, he later published the highly acclaimed “Baanthai Cookbook”–a piece of Regensburg's culinary history.

For this special kitchen party at the Engelwirt, Florian will be serving up original Thai dishes and family recipes - accompanied by his long-time friend and cabaret partner Tobias Ostermeier. The Regensburg actor not only provides the appropriate anecdotes, but also creates an atmosphere that oscillates between improvisation, enjoyment and cordiality.
