In February 2027, Florian Toperngpong and Tobias Ostermeier will be our guests again at the Engelwirt—and we’re looking forward to another culinary celebration full of flavors, stories, and surprising moments.

Florian Toperngpong grew up at the legendary “Baanthai,” Eastern Bavaria’s first Thai restaurant. Amid Thai basil, chili, and galangal, he learned Thai cuisine from the ground up. Together with his wife, illustrator Gisela Goppel, he later published the highly acclaimed “Baanthai Cookbook,” thereby preserving a piece of Regensburg’s culinary history. Here at the Engelwirt, Florian will once again serve up authentic Thai dishes and family recipes. Joining him is his longtime friend and cabaret partner Tobias Ostermeier. The Regensburg-based actor contributes stories, spontaneous ideas, and plenty of enthusiasm—turning the evening into much more than just a shared meal. So we’ll cook, taste, tell stories, laugh, and celebrate—in a relaxed, lively atmosphere with room for whatever unfolds that evening.
